The short version: PacketPuffin has no accounts, no tracking, and no analytics. Your test results are never uploaded — your history lives only on your device, and you can delete it at any time.
PacketPuffin ("the app") is an internet speed-test app for iPhone and iPad. This policy explains what the app does with information when you use it. It applies to the PacketPuffin app and nothing else.
We — the developer — do not collect, receive, or store any personal information about you. PacketPuffin has no user accounts, no login, and no analytics or advertising software. Your test results are never uploaded — there is nowhere for them to go but your own device.
The app does connect to speed-test endpoints that we operate. What those endpoints do and do not see is described in section 4 below.
The app does not ask for your name, email, contacts, photos, or location, and it does not track you across other apps or websites.
If you leave history saving on, each completed test is saved to a private database on your device only. Each saved result contains six things: the date and time, your download speed, upload speed, ping, jitter, and whether you were on Wi-Fi, cellular, or ethernet.
Saved results never include your IP address, your network name, or your location. This data never leaves your device and is never sent to us or anyone else. You can turn saving off in Settings, delete individual results, or delete everything at once — and deleting the app removes all of it.
To do its job, the app connects to a few public services. In each case, only what is technically necessary to complete the request is shared, and nothing identifying you is attached.
PacketPuffin Pro is sold through Apple's in-app purchase system. All payments are handled by Apple — the app never sees or receives your payment details. Your purchase and subscription status are managed by Apple and your device. Apple's handling of that information is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
There are none. PacketPuffin contains no analytics frameworks, no advertising, and no third-party tracking software. Because the app does not track you, it does not use Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt.
PacketPuffin is not directed at children, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
Because everything the app stores lives on your device, you are always in control of it. Turn history saving on or off in Settings, delete any or all saved results whenever you like, and remove everything by deleting the app.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the revised policy.
